Puzzle Screen - Interiors Magazine

A custom size Puzzle Screen commission we did awhile back is on the cover as well as two interior pages of the Oct-Nov 2011 Issue of Interiors Magazine. Here's a link to a picture of the same Puzzle Screen assembled in our studio before we shipped it off to NY. Custom Size Puzzle Screen

Knit-A-Holic

I don't know if I ever mentioned Rie is a knit-a-holic. She's been working on a colossal knit sculpture for at least a couple of years. When she's not working on it, she's often doing smaller items like this scarf.

Hakone Open-Air Museum

While in Hakone, Japan, we also visited the Hakone Open-Air Museum. In our opinion, the two most amazing pieces in the collection were both play environments for children. Children are free to play in these structures. The photos above are of a piece created by Toshiko Horiuchi MacAdam in 2009 called "Knitted Wonder Space 2"

The other piece that we really liked was another children's play environment created in 1994 by Peter Pierce called "Curved Space Diamond Structure"

Hakone Museum of Art - Moss Garden

These are a few photos from our recent visit to the Hakone Museum of Art's moss garden in Hakone, Japan. Our visit was on the day before they cover the moss for the winter. We were told the color of the mosses are more drab than during the spring and summer. Even though the trees have lost their leaves and the colors of the moss are muted, the soft colors on an overcast day were incredibly beautiful.

Bacon The Bulldog

I think our new bulldog is having quite an influence on Rie!
